What is Label Studio?

Label Studio is an open source data labeling and annotation platform that supports multiple data modalities including images, audio, text, video, time series, and multi-modal data. It provides a flexible labeling interface that can be customized with templates and programmable interfaces, and supports AI evaluation workflows including LLM evals, RLHF, and agentic trace review. The platform is available as a community edition, a hosted Starter Cloud, and an Enterprise version with enhanced security and automation features.

How to use Label Studio?

Install Label Studio with pip install label-studio, then start it with label-studio and open http://localhost:8080. Sign up with an email and password, click Create to create a project, name it and optionally add a description. Click Data Import to upload data files or skip for cloud storage, then click Labeling Setup to choose a template and customize label names. Click Save and you're ready to start labeling and annotating data.
