What is Kiro?

Kiro is an AI-powered development platform that helps developers and teams move beyond AI coding to agentic engineering. It turns prompts into executable specifications, validates code correctness using property-based testing, and enables building across large codebases with parallel agents that learn from every session. Built and operated by AWS, Kiro offers an IDE, CLI, web, and mobile interfaces with enterprise-grade security and governance.

How to use Kiro?

Install the Kiro CLI with 'curl -fsSL https://cli.kiro.dev/install | bash' or download the IDE. Create a new spec by clicking the + button under Specs in the Kiro pane, or choose Spec from the chat pane. Provide your initial prompt describing your project idea, then choose Feature when Kiro asks what your intent is. Select your workflow (Requirements-First, Design-First, or Quick Spec) and follow the workflow through each phase to implementation. You can also use the headless CLI in CI/CD pipelines to review PRs and fix bugs without opening an editor.
