What is HumanLayer?

HumanLayer is a multiplayer coding agent IDE and cloud platform that serves as a control plane for your software factory. It brings agent sessions, plan artifacts, and code diffs together in one place so teams can collaborate and ship. It works from your workstation to remote background agents, letting you bring your own compute, development environment, and agent harness or run the full HumanLayer stack.

How to use HumanLayer?

Install HumanLayer via Homebrew (brew trust humanlayer/humanlayer then brew install humanlayer/humanlayer/humanlayer) or follow the Linux/Windows install instructions. A local daemon runs many agent sessions in parallel on your laptop, and you can spin up cloud daemons for long-running work. Everything syncs through the HumanLayer API, giving the same UI on web, desktop, or phone. Use the command palette to jump between tasks, sessions, and artifacts, and follow the QRSPI workflow (Questions, Research, Design, Structure, Plan, Implement) to move from intent to shipped code.
