What is Barra/AI?

Barra/AI is a free, open-source browser extension that lets you summon AI with a slash command in any text field. It works by typing "/ai" followed by a prompt, then pressing Tab to replace the text with an AI-generated response. It supports OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, and local models via Ollama, with no popups, sidebars, or subscriptions.

How to use Barra/AI?

  • 1. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store. 2. In any text field, type something like "/ai rewrite this politely". 3. Press Tab. 4. The AI answer replaces your prompt directly in the text field you're already using.
