What is Bunsho?

Bunsho is a story-aware integrated writing environment for novelists, plotters, and discovery writers. It automatically tracks characters, places, objects, relationships, and world rules from your prose, and uses a built-in continuity engine to flag contradictions and plot holes. It offers four views—Editor, World, Planner, and Continuity—to help you write and revise with consistency.

How to use Bunsho?

Download Bunsho for macOS or Windows. The editor is free and requires no account; AI features unlock with a free sign-in. Write your manuscript in the Editor, and Bunsho automatically builds a story model from your prose. Use the World tab to review and correct tracked entities, the Planner to outline chapters, and the Continuity tab to run checks that flag contradictions with both passages in view. In Director Mode, you can @-tag characters and draft scenes as beat sheets, with preflight checks against character knowledge.
